"Mom's Plus One" Lookbook

I'm a huge fan of the tight top/wide pant combo, and I think keeping a reserved, high neckline really shows how close Skyler keeps things to her chest under a mask of sarcasm.

It's Taos Aunt Summer - silver, turquoise, unbleached natural fibers. This mom is too cool for her growns.

Finding the balance between "cool-looking streetwear" and "work uniform" is hard - it's all in the confidence of the actor.

You can pry my immature graphic tees out of my cold, dead hands - nothing builds character like them.

For some reason, Pinterest won't give you many results when you type in "Taos Aunt." It's the younger, hipper version of beach grandma. Anyway, watch this space for when "Mom's Plus One" eventually drops.

"Occult Kickstarter" Lookbook

Here is the lookbook I prepared when pitching costume concepts on the short "Occult Kickstarter." Our final look ended up being heavily inspired by that pre-1910 Egypt image on page two, but I pulled from many sources when coming up with this aesthetic. Scanned in this set include magazine cutouts, fabric scraps, and even a piece of petrified wood. The cloaks were made from a simple, unbleached muslin, with reverse appliqué details holding together the sleeves. The pattern originated as a Vogue dupe of a Ralph Lauren knit poncho from the early '90s.

"Hm, wow": 10 photos of America that will really make you think

Who watches over us?      We live in uncertain times. Who do we act for? Why do we act the way we do? Which cameras do we pose for? Is it the corporations that rule our lives? The government? God? We live in a world of contradictions. What do we consider entertaining? Why do we light up the night? How do we relate to where we live?  What flags do we honor? What figures do we honor? Who do we dishonor? Where is safe for us?   We were finally starting to feel safe on campus. There were resources available for us. We felt loved and welcomed, when I took these pictures. Just days after, there was a homophobic hate crime on campus. Many of us are paralyzed — some with fear, some with anger. This is a turning point for people on campus, but only if we make it one. Do what you can, if you can. Don't let hate win.
